Yeah, so, this is my first journal, and the only reason i'm really doing one is because a couple of the photography clubs on here demanded that i mention them in my journal, so here I am. But I figure I need to fill up this space with something other than just them, so...umm...i'll just say a bit about myself?
Sooo...uhh. I'm a 22 year old guy living in the middle of nowhere and just graduated with my AA...um...about 5 hours ago. I plan to move onto a bigger and better college, probably either the university of washington, or Western Washington University, but haven't really decided yet, probably majoring in some sort of biology or enviromental science related field. I guess I have a little bit of time...I don't plan to attend until winter quarter, cause i'm going to spain for a couple of months in the fall

. I've only been really into photography for the past 6 months or so. I bought my first digital camera about 2 years ago for a trip to costa rica as part of a biology class. I had a blast there, but was constantly frustrated not being able to do things i wanted with the little point and shoot. I took tons of pictures while there, but was only happy with a few, and complained about it pretty regularly till Christmas came along and, lo and behold, my parents got me a brand new Digital Rebel XT SLR! I was pretty stoked...but was so busy with life, by that time a year later I still had hardly used it or learned HOW to use it. Finally, after a year of no school, I reenrolled and started taking classes again in January 2007 trying to complete my AA, and decided to take a digital photography class while i was there. I ended up loving it, and took another class spring quarter, which I just finished. It's amazing how much I've learned. Looking back through all my older pics, I've only found a handfull of ones I really liked, from an artistic point of view. Anyway, even though i've only been artistically trying to take pictures for about six months, i'm totally stoked on the whole thing and plan to take more classes once I transfer. I'd like to at least minor in it I'm thinking, but I don't think i'm going to pursue a real career in it, because I don't want to starve to death. I read that the average salary for a professional photographer is only 17,000 US Dollars a year....which, sucks. So, I dunno if I'll end up doing that for a living, but I'm definitely going to keep taking pictures.
Ok, anyway, i give full permission and blah blah blah for the black-white-club
